My teamworking module has been the best point of growth for me. Simulating the studio environment, becoming reliant on a team and working with people I don't always agree with was difficult at first however after implimenting agile techniques its definetly helped me to become better at the production of games.
Our game is a co-op horde shooter, where the players are old wind up toys that have to be wound up to heal although healing degrades the payer's health bar. Players also have to rip each others arms off to re attach new weapons. I'm really proud of our groups game for being awarded most innovative at our Universities end of year expo show!
Aspects I worked on: Game concept, mechanics design, level design, UI, VFX, post-processing
Working from level playboards by the other designer to whitebox levels and gather play testers feedback to iterate and improve on them.
Ideating interesting weapon options for the players as well as testing and improving on the games systems in particular the enemy spawn rate and power.
Ideating UI, which clearly communicates important information to the players and then implimenting post processes to create a more robotic style.
